Prof. Ujjwal Nigam is dynamic software professional. His overall experience includes a blend of academic and industrial exposure. With around 18 years of experience in teaching engineering graduates and postgraduates, he has worked in industry for more than 6 years including US-based multinational as a Project Manager. He is actively involved in research of mobile computer network environments, including both wired and wireless (ad hoc) networks; with a focus on the design, implementation, and performance evaluation of network protocols in mobility situations. He is on the board of Bhopal Chapter of Computer Society of India (a well known body of IT professionals from industry and academia across India). As Head of the department, his focus is more on practical aspects of engineering education where students are exposed to training and project development in order to make them employable right from the day they step out of the college after their degrees. Apart from RGPV curriculum, he focuses more on empirical technicalities of the subject in order to bridge the gap between industrial requirement and university curriculum. He stresses a lot on making the students technically sound and upgraded.
